Free online tour guide training for Greater Bay Area staff in the tourism industry to improve their professional capabilities

On December 2019, Macao Institute for Tourism Studies was officially approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as the relying unit of the Macao SAR and listed as the Tourism Education and Training Base for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, undertaking the task of tourism training and talent cultivation.

Under the epidemic of COVID-19, the Base has offered free online tour guide trainings for Greater Bay Area staff in the tourism industry to improve their professional capabilities and get prepared for the future recovery of tourism. This series of free trainings will be held from March to July, with a total of 5,600 places in 11 lectures.

The first batch of the free Greater Bay Area online tour guide training was held on March 31. The second batch was held on April 23 and 24 respectively, with the themes of “Principle of World Heritage Site Interpretation” and “The Key Topics of Heritage Attraction”.  All were lectured by the instructors of IFTM.
