National Flag Raising Ceremony

Graduates in regalia must arrive at the open area outside IFTM Educational Restaurant by 07:30 to attend the National Flag Raising Ceremony. When the National Emblem is playing, graduates HAVE TO take off the caps.

08:30 Long staircase outside Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion

IFTM will arrange transportation for you from Forte Mong-Há bus stop (at the foot of Mong-Há Hill) to Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion at 08:05 to attend the group photo taking session. Those attending group photo taking session must arrive at the long staircase outside Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion by 08:30 for lining up and photo taking. Late comers will not be arranged. The mask should only be removed after everyone is in position. After the photo shooting, graduates should put on the mask.

Graduates of Cuisine Diploma Programmes will have group photo taking on stage of the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion after the Ceremony.

Graduation photos will be available to download at IFTM webpage from 09 November to 31 December 2020.

Rehearsal of Graduation Ceremony 

If graduates of Cuisine Diploma Programmes could not attend the rehearsal, they will be briefed the procedure at 13:30 by handling staff.

At 14:00 Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion

Commencement of Graduation Ceremony

  1. Graduates and guests must be seated before 14:00.
  2. At 14:30, Members of Head Table will walk in. All graduates have to stand up.
  3. Take off the caps and remain standing during the National Anthem of People's Republic of China.
  4. After the National Anthem, Members of Head Table will take their seats. Then the assembly will take their seats.
  5. During speeches, please be silent and remain seated.
  6. Conferring of Degrees or presentation of certificates:

    1. Graduates will stand up when their group are called and should remain standing until the President of IFTM confers the degree by saying, "By virtue of the authority vested in me, I hereby confer upon you (degree name) of Macao Institute for Tourism Studies and those in absence."
    2. With the certificate folder distributed during the rehearsal in the morning, upon presentation of names, graduates will (note that all left/right-hand-side directions are given as if facing the stage):

      • remove the mask while lining up,
      • use right-hand-side walkway, walk towards and stand on the floor mark,
      • bow to Members of Head Table,
      • turn clockwise towards the Assembly, bow to the Assembly,
      • leave the stage by left-hand-side walkway, back to their seats and put on the masks.

To avoid crowd aggregation, those families and friends who entered the venue (with stickers) will be allowed entry in batches as follows:
15:30 – 16:00: Culinary + Event + Heritage + Retail 
16:00 – 16:30: Hotel + Tourism

Remark: Graduates can also take photos with those family members and friends who are unable to get in outside the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion.


1. Graduates who could NOT attend any part of the ceremony or will NOT need transportation to Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion please notify us (click here) on or before October 15 for better arrangement.
2. Graduates and guests are recommended to take public transportation. As there are limited car park slots nearby, please allow adequate time if driving is needed.
3. All graduates and participants entering the venues must wear a mask, take body temperature, present the “Macao Health Code” (green code) and perform hand hygiene using alcohol-based sanitizer.
