Hilda holds various roles in the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies. She is currently the convener of the Year 1 English courses of the Chinese Degree Programme. For the English Degree Programme, Hilda is one of the lecturers who teaches business and academic English courses.

Aside from teaching in the classrooms, Hilda is part of the Writing Centre faculty team who provide academic writing support for students' research projects. From 2015-2021, she also provided English Centre services to help student prepare for their assessments, CV and cover letters, job interviews and international standardised English tests. Her research interests include English language and education, cultural tourism and sustainable tourism development.

Hilda loves music and art. In 2014, she established the IFTM Chamber Music Club and had taken the club to various locations including the Chengdu International Cities Youth Music Festival to give performances. She had also led students to other cultural exchange programmes in Beijing and Tianjin. Furthermore, she uses the name “be__stills” and published photographs in newspapers, magazines and a book.
