She received her master's degree from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, U.K., and later obtained her PhD from Nottingham Trent University, U.K. She began her academic career with the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies, where she has remained till today. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses, such as "Special Interest Tourism", "Destination and Attractions Management", and "Tourism Planning and Development", where her research focuses. Her research interests include destination and attraction management, tourism planning and development.
