Xing has been teaching English language courses since he received his first degree in English in 2004. As a professional applied linguist, he has worked with students from diverse cultural, ethnic and professional backgrounds at tertiary institutions in mainland China and Macau. Xing joined IFTM in 2014, and he currently teaches English language courses for the daytime undergraduate programs and provides Writing Center and English Center services to help students enhance their academic and business writing skills.
Aside from teaching, Xing has also conducted research in sociolinguistics and English education. His current research focuses on the glocalization of English in China, multilingualism and language policy. With a keen interest in culture and history, Xing is also on the path to becoming a historian and expands his research into areas such as modern Chinese history, Chinese diaspora, Southeast Asian studies, colonial and post-colonial studies, and history of East-West interactions.
In his spare time, Xing enjoys traveling, taking photos, playing Taichi, and picking up words of a new language.
