Certificate: Students who have passed all assessments and met the attendance requirement in each module will be issued a “Certificate in Macao History and Tourism” by UTM. The passing grade of the course is 60. 
Remark:
1. Candidates who want to apply “Certificate in Tourist Guide” must complete this certificate.
2. Candidates who want to apply the Tour Guide Card must complete the "Certificate in Macao History and Tourism" and "Certificate in Tourist Guide" courses.

Objective: After completion of the course, students will be able to:
• illustrate tourism resources, facilities and services
• indicate different characteristics of tourism products
• explore issues of politics, economy and cultural development about Macao after its opening
• describe the Macao trade and its cultural exchange
• narrate the background of Macao tourist attractions
• explain the historic relic at the tourist attraction and its surrounding scenic spots in an orderly way

• Welcoming tour, touring around, tour catering, accommodations and departing tour

Macao History and Culture (21 hours)
• Pre-founding period of Macao
• The Senate autonomy period
• The decline of Senate
• Colonization period
• Social transformation period
• The rise and fall of economy and trade in Macao
• Cultural exchange between the East and the West

Macao Tourist Attractions (24 hours)
• Historic Centre of Macao
• Churches

1) Macau Resident Identity Card and a copy of ID card copy (front and back).
2) One 1.5-inch photo.
3) The original and a copy of your diploma (high school graduation or higher education).

Regulations for Certificate in Macao History and Tourism course, and Admission exam content

According to the decree-law no. 48/98/M published on 3 November and revised on 30 December 2004 by administrative regulation no. 42/2004, interested parties must attend and pass the Certificate in Tour Guiding Course organized by UTM in order to apply for the Tour Guide License issued by Macau Government Tourist Office.

NOTE: Fake academic qualification documents will be sent to Public Prosecutions Office for handling.

If there are fewer than 25 accepted candidates registered in the programme, the Institute reserves the right of not launching the programme.
