Guideline for Submission of
Feature Articles

Format & Style

Manuscripts should be prepared in MS Word, and submitted as email attachments. Contributions are received with the understanding that their contents are original, unpublished material and are not being submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors are required to adhere to commonly accepted ethical requirements. The editors-in-chief reserve the right to edit or otherwise alter contributions, but authors will receive proofs for approval before publication.

Manuscripts must be written in English and typed in the American Psychological Association (APA) publication style. All text should be double spaced and with a font size of 12 pt. Articles should be 5000-6000 words long, although articles longer than 6000 words will be accepted on an occasional basis, if the topic demands this length of treatment.

Manuscripts should have the following pages.

Cover page: title, corresponding author's name, affiliation, e-mail address, full postal address and telephone and fax numbers. Affiliations and contact details of co-authors should also be clearly indicated.

Second Page: an abstract of 100 to 150 words (outlining in a single paragraph the aims, scope and conclusions of the paper) and keywords (four to six).

Subsequent pages: text; notes; references; tables and figures (embedded within text).

All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references following the notes of the manuscript. The list of references should be arranged alphabetically by authors' names. References should be given in the following form:

1) Journals: Blake, A., and T. Sinclair (2003) Tourism Crisis Management: US Response to September 11. Annals of Tourism Research 30:813-832.

2) Books: Salvatore, D. (2004) International Economics (8th ed.). New York: John Wiley & Sons Inc.

3) Other Publications: Where there is doubt include all bibliographical details.

Acknowledgements and information on grants received should only be included on the first page.

Footnotes will not be accepted. Instead, endnotes should be submitted as a consecutively numbered list following the last page of the article.

Authors are responsible for copyright clearance and/or referencing of any secondary materials submitted to THeR.  Any material published in THeR will be publicly accessible.  Copyright of the published articles will belong to THeR.

Review Process

Manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial screening for adherence to the journal’s aim and scope. Papers accepted for further consideration will be double-blind-reviewed by two referees with expertise in related research areas. First authors will be informed about the decisions within three months of submission.
