Mission statements:

學生事務 Student Affairs:
- 盡力為學生尋求福更多福利，為學生舉辦有意義的活動
To strike more benefits and to hold meaningful activities for IFT students

- 主動了解學生需要，為本地、內地學生及交換生提供協助
To consciously care about the needs of all students including local students, Mainland students and the exchange students, and help them for their needs

- 提高學生會及屬會的重要性，並改善學生會與屬會之間的合作
To enhance the significance of Student Union and the associated clubs and improve their cooperation with Student Union
(改善學生的校園生活)

校務工作 School Affairs:
- 加強學生與校方之間的溝通
To strengthen the communication between students and the institute

- 促進學校各部門與學生會之間的合作
To improve the cooperation between all departments in the institute and Student Union

- 在學生會內建立好的文化
To create a good culture in Student Union
E.g. actively participate in activities, seeking for improvement for every activities held, maintain good relationship between members

- 增加學生會及校方與外界各組織及機構之交流?
To advance the connection between the Student Union, the institute and other groups and organizations in the society

- 與其他各院校緊密合作，充實本澳學生之校園生活
To work well with other institutes and universities in order to bring students in Macau meaningful campus life with happiness

社會事務 Social Affairs:
- 鼓勵學生主動關心時事及留意社會改變
To encourage students to care about the current affairs and changes in the society

- 積極參與公眾及慈善活動，從中幫助有需要的人
To participate in public activities and charity events so as to help those who need to be helped

- 協助宣傳本澳旅遊業，並推廣本校良好的學習氣氛
To promote tourism in Macau and to spread out the good learning culture in the institute

President's Speech

Distinguished Guests,
Lecturers, Colleagues,
Fellow students,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is our honour to have all of you attending the Inauguration Ceremony of the 15th Student Union and Sub-organizations of IFT. Thank you for spending your precious time with us.

Last year, I participated in the Inauguration Ceremony with the identity of a secretary. Today, I am privileged to be here as the chairman of the 15th Student Union of IFT.

 At this moment, I am glad to be here expressing my immense gratitude to the support and trust given by my schoolmates. Throughout the previous year I spent in the Student Union, I have learned so much from all of my lecturers and schoolmates; and also the valuable experience gained from holding activities.  

With the continuous effort contributed by the members, the Student Union has been operated better year by year. IFT Students are having greater interest in participating in activities organized by us; and we are getting closer with the students. In addition, I would like to thank the 6 sub-organizations for holding various meaningful activities for students. The successful activities and competitions held by them have also enriched our campus life and helped in developing students’ interests. I am sure that these sub-organizations will continue to work closely with the Student Union to provide a wonderful campus life for our fellow schoolmates.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank, our President, Dr. Fanny Vong and Vice President, Ms Florence Ian, for providing us resources in running the Student Union. Many thanks to Mr. Antonio Chu for his kind assistance to our activities; and of course, our Student Counsellors Ms. Doris Ip, Ms. Shirley Ma and Mr. Dino Couto, for their valuable suggestions when we faces difficulties. Moreover, I would like to show my appreciation to the former presidents of the Student Union, Ms. Stephanie Lao, Mr. Derek Liang, and Ms. Rita Kuan for giving us guidelines and teaching us how to solve problems; and also all the members of the 14th Student Union for all their contribution. 

Last but not least, I would like to thank all of you here because the Student Union cannot run successfully without your unceasing support. On behalf of the Student Union, I would like to welcome all the new members and hope that with their help, our Student Union will shine brighter than ever.

With the witnesses from all of you, I promise to be a good leader and lead the Student Union to a brighter future, focusing on being the bridge between the Institute and the fellow students, to stand up when needed and to help when asked.

Let us stand up and shine and we sincerely hope that the forthcoming Student Union will be the brightest of all years!
