¡§A really good stay.¡¨
By: woody ¡V UK |
Stayed only 1 night with my wife on the way to Malaysia. We booked the hotel via the hotels website, they were very quick and efficient with their responses. Checking in and out was quick with no problems. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. This goes for the rest of the hotel staff who were a credit and just couldn't do enough for you. The room was very spacious, clean and had good views of the gardens and park. The bathroom was very clean and had a power shower.
This hotel is situated away from the main sites but you can easily walk to the main sites. If not the hotel will arrange a taxi for you. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.
In summary, for the price you pay for this hotel and the service you receive I would strongly recommend this hotel. We had a most enjoyable stay. |

¡§Best in Macau!¡¨
By: paolaerobert |
Pousada de Mong Ha is an oasis of green, cleanliness and beauty in Macau. 20 rooms, the most courteous staff, and a quiet public garden all around. It is part of the Macau Institute for Tourism Studies ([-] a large University/College like school) and most of the staffs are training students who try their best to do well and help: the result is excellent.
The Pousada is not too central but central enough to be convenient. Cleanliness is good. Service excellent. Breakfast very nice. Atmosphere tranquil and comforting. Price: very good value. The so called single has a queen bed and is perfect for a couple that prefer to spend a bit less. Internet is free in all rooms.
These are not frequent things in Macau. Other than this Educational Hotel, the institute has an educational restaurant: elegant and pleasant with fairly good Macanese progressive cuisine. It couldn¡¦t be any better. We would definitely come back to Pousada de Mong Ha if there was any reason to come to Macau. |

¡§Very Enjoyable Experience - Terrific Value for Price¡¨

I just spent two nights at the Pousada de Mong-Ha during my vacation to Macau. I had a very enjoyable experience, I am fully satisfied with my choice and I recommend this hotel to other travelers looking for a high comfortable and convenient accommodation in Macau.
First thing I enjoyed is location. The hotel is located in a small park on the top of a hill, right in the middle of the town, providing a retreat from the chaotic urban life of the city as well as a convenient location to visit the city's attritions. The city center (Largo do Senado, Ruins of St. Paul, Fortaleza do Monte) is not far away from the hotel and it is reachable in a 10 minutes/3 US$ taxi ride. You may also consider walking if you like but Macau is not really a walking paradise and the traffic, the crowd and the noise can get quite annoying. Other city's attractions can likewise be easily reached by a few minutes, few dollars taxi ride.
Second, the quality of accommodation. I believe the hotel is rated just three-star but I found it absolutely comparable to many four-star hotels I found worldwide around. The hotel has its own distinguished character with a Portuguese colonial taste. The room I stayed at, a "Single-type" room, was comfortable, nicely furnished, and spotlessly clean. The bathroom did not have bathtub but it was equipped with a fancy shower with massage jet and other cool features. Hotel common areas were nicely decorated with Portuguese-style tiles and fountains. Breakfast, included in the rate, was of good quality and variety. I did not try dinner which is served in the attached Portuguese-Macanese restaurant located few meters off the hotel facility.
Third, the quality of service. The hotel is run by the local Institute for Tourism Studies; all members of the staff are students with a customer-oriented attitude definitely above the average. I was never disappointed after asking assistance or advice. The hotel also provides free Internet access, not standard at this latitude, considering I paid about US$4 per 15 minutes in Hong Kong in the same period. Cost of international calls was also reasonable, whereas I often found it offensive in similar hotels.
Last, pricing. The rates I paid was reasonable and remarkably cheaper than other options I had considered in the same category of service.
In summary, the Posada de Mong-Ha provided me with a very comfortable, enjoyable and convenient accommodation in Macau. I would definitely consider returning to this hotel and I definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers. |

¡§Just lovely¡¨

We stayed here for two nights in an ordinary double room. The room was huge and comfortable, spotlessly clean, with an amazing multi-jet shower. The hotel staff (all trainees) were faultless - polite, friendly and endlessly obliging. On the evening that we had booked a table for dinner at the Institute's restaurant it started to rain just as we were about to leave. The receptionist insisted on escorting us through the labyrinthine building so we could get there without getting wet.
Dinner at the "Educational" restaurant was a very pleasant experience; the menu was ambitious and somewhat over-complicated, but the food was prepared perfectly. They even make their own bread, and it was a wonderful antidote to the dreadful bread in Hong Kong. The service was immaculate and very friendly.
Breakfast at the hotel was very good indeed, particularly the pastries & croissants, and at dusk
we particularly enjoyed having drinks on the hotel balcony under enormous fans. |

¡§Oasis of peace and tranquility¡¨

My husband and I stayed here for three nights whilst visiting Macau. It is beautifully built in the Portuguese style with tiles and fountains. Large rooms with balcony and great bathroom. Breakfast is included in the room price and what a magnificent spread it is. The espresso coffee machine makes divine coffee often hard to find in Asia. Free internet was very useful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Macau |

¡§Congratulations!¡¨

We have visited 10 countries in the last 10 years, and Pousada de Mong-Ha wins our award for overall best lodging. It wins for value, service, maintenance, atmosphere, location and friendliness. Congratulations on your fine operation. P.S. The food was outstanding. |
