Thanks to All Reviewers
Organizers wish to thank the efforts put in by 45 reviewers who painstakingly assessed the merits of all submissions received. In some cases, more than two reviewers were involved to ensure each paper received due, objective and careful attention. We expect about 60 to 75 high quality presentations during the conference, including the plenary sessions where influential ideas will be presented by keynote speakers.

Authors are reminded to submit the final versions of their paper no later than 30 September 2009 to warrant inclusion in the conference proceedings. (Deadline for registration at FULL fee is also 30 September 2009.) Submission of final paper version (and research notes) is to be done via file uploading to each authors’ EasyChair account. Please contact Dr. Connie Loi of the DBM Conference Secretariat (conference@ift.edu.mo) or Dr. Don Dioko, Paper Review Co-chair on issues regarding file uploading.

In a report by the Sydney Morning Herald, Australia has just begun a search for a new brand identity and will spend up to $20 million for the effort. The Herald cites Australia’s trade minister, Simon Crean, in challenging marketing agencies to come up with a “catch-all slogan, image or logo that best exemplifies Australia and promote it overseas” and whatever the successful brand will be must, the Minister believes, have an ''unashamedly commercial focus'' to promote Australia as a tourist destination, and as a great place to live, do business, and invest. In addition, plans are afoot to establish a Brand Australia Council and to launch a new wave of advertising campaign.
Perhaps a few officials from Australia’s Trade Ministry will find attending the 3rd DBM Conference in December worth their while and purpose as they prepare to announce the new brand marketing plan in February.
