University of South Carolina’s International Tourism Research Institute and College of Hospitality, Retail and Sports Management
Since 2005, IFT has worked closely in various international initiatives with University of South Carolina’s International Tourism Research Institute and its College of Hospitality, Retail and Sports Management. Collaboration between USC and IFT not only covers joint organization of the DBM Conference Series but also international student exchange (with the College) and collaborative research projects in development (with ITRI). Through the leadership of USC’s former Provost, Mark Becker (now President of Georgia State University), a strong foundation now links USC and its China initiatives via IFT and, likewise, several IFT students have already benefitted through exchange opportunities at USC campus.

ITRI is led by its Director, Dr. Rich Harrill, who will be a keynote speaker at the 3rd DBM Conference, and its Associate Director, Dr. Robert (Xiang) Li, who Co-chairs the Scientific and Program Committee of the conference. ITRI’s mission is to “to provide innovative tourism assistance to communities, development organizations, agencies, and businesses” and Dr. Harrill’s rich background in academia and industry, his leadership at the conference ensures that all discussion encompass both applied and theoretical considerations for the benefit of scholars and practitioners. sides For more info on ITRI, visit their site here.http://www.hrsm.sc.edu/tourismresearch/http://www.hrsm.sc.edu/tourismresearch/shapeimage_15_link_0
