Objective:

At the end of the course, students will be able to handle 2 to 3 bottles (or tin) basic juggling, as well as using pourer to do spirit pouring and using Boston Shaker combined with flair skill to make a glass of cocktail.



Course Outline:

Session one: 
 
Spirit pouring from pourer
Flair skill with one bottle
Session two: Flair skill with one tin and ice catching technique
Session three:  Flair skill with one bottle and one tin
Session four:  Flair skill with two tins
Session five:   Flair skill with two bottles
Session six:   Basic flair skill with three bottles   
Session seven:
 
Flair skill with one bottle and one tin, combine with pouring technique and the usage of Boston Shaker to make a cocktail in one consecutive flow
Session eight:  Revision of session six and seven
Session nine:
 
Revision of session one to seven, emphasis on how to combine basic flair skill with Boston Shaker to make a cocktail in one consecutive flow. Explanation and demonstration on how to join a cocktail competition
Session ten:   Practical technique exam

 


Trainer Background Information:

Mr. Zhang Zhi Penn

  • 4 years working experience at International Hotels at Shenzhen

  • 8 years training and management experience with the True Color Bar (5 bars in total)

  • Executive committee of China Bartenders Association

  • China Labor & Welfare Department certified cocktail artificer

  • Award received:     
    -3rd runner-up for the Asian Regional Flairtending Competition 2005 at HK CEC in conjunction with HOFEX
    -The Representative of China Flairtender for the International Competition at Helsinki in 2005
    -Appreciation award from the Shenzhen Government, during The 2005 Canton Food Festival, for his outstanding flair skills demonstration and contribution work done for the flairtender industry development in China


Remarks:

  • We suggest student to use products that are similar and safe, to self practice at least 2-3 hours at home, in order to fine tune skill to pass the assessment.

  • In the class room, the student will be provided with required training materials, however, they are not to be taken away or taken out of the classroom at all.

  • If students want to purchase training to do self practice at home, they are required to purchase them directly through the tutor themselves.

  • Either practicing at classroom or at home, the most essential awareness is safety. Ensure you put all the glass materials in a safe place first, and then you start the practice.
