Objective:

The aim of Disaster Management is to minimize the losses at the time of a disaster as well as ensure most efficient utilization of available resources, which in some situations can be fairly restricted. The loss during an actual event is not necessarily high, but, the losses become very high due to inability to manage the situation in a timely manner.

This introductory course will promote the sharing of relevant technical, situational management and handling skills. The knowledge learnt will equip participants with appropriate decision making, strategic and analytical processes for disaster prevention, mitigation, response and recovery. This is a highly interactive workshop which encourages participants to think creatively via contemporary adult learning methodologies including:
