The effectiveness of the interpretation and presentation of a heritage asset aids in the understanding of the cultural value of such assets by visitors.  This course will address how heritage assets can become attractions that visitors can easily consume and understand (particularly, when the balance of education with entertainment is right).  The discussion of interpretation in this course will cover the concepts and techniques for the generation of the messages about the cultural value of the asset or attraction for the visitor.  The course will address how visitor experience is central to the absorption of interpretation messages and in the management and planning of such attractions.  It will outline the concepts and strategies currently employed for best practice interpretation/presentation and discuss some specific cases in detail.
