This is an introductory course, with an aim to expose students to the fundamental tools used by economists to analyze some rudimentary economic questions. The basic analytical framework of demand and supply will be introduced. By using these basic tools, students will be guided to look at various issues such as welfare, efficiency and international trade. Industrial structure, labour economics and public economics will then be brought in. The impact of tourism on an economy will be discussed.
