Hugo Bandeira is one of the first products of IFT, from where he graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor degree in Tourism Business Management. Apart from engaging in teaching in IFT, she has worked for several consultancy projects commissioned by a private company in Macao. Her research interests mainly lie in the areas of tourism marketing, tourist behaviour and tourism policies, etc. She has conducted several research projects on the travel behaviour of mainland tourists in China. |

She has supervised, researched and taught in executive, doctoral, masters and undergraduate programs. Dino, as he likes to be called, lived in the United Kingdom for more than six years where he was awarded both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in tourism. His undergraduate research project looked at the feasibility of Harry Potter as a brand for Britain to attract tourists and his master's thesis studied how Macau's neighbours perceived the city, a cultural Janus or gambler's heaven.
He is responsible for teaching English to first years and Event Management to second, third and fourth years. As a student counsellor, he provides guidance and support for student-related activities, concerns and issues, gives advice to students on further studies, career paths and personal matters, as well as encourages and ensures the betterment of students’ professional development.
Apart from his teaching and counselling duties, Dino supervises undergraduate final year projects and serves as a tutor for the ACCESS club where he offers support for students taking open examinations and students with language learning difficulties. He actively engages in academic and consultancy research projects and attends conferences on topics related to the tourism industry. His research interests lie in the area of festivals and events, business tourism, destination marketing and management, and tourism education.

Dr Hilary du Cros has a proven track record in tourism and cultural heritage management research, scholarship and teaching. She has worked in the tourism field for the past eight years and has over 20 years experience in cultural heritage management. Dr du Cros is an expert member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) International Scientific Committee on Cultural Tourism.
Prior to entering academia, she owned and operated one of Australia largest cultural heritage consulting firms, where she supervised or conducted over 250 projects, including a number of projects funded by the National Estate Grants Programme.
She has published over 70 scholarly books, journal articles, conference papers, monographs and book chapters. Eleven of these publications concern the management of World Heritage Sites. Her most recent books include: Cultural Heritage Management in China: Preserving the Pearl River Delta Cities (2007) with Y.S.F. Lee; and Cultural Tourism: The Partnership between Tourism and Cultural Heritage Management (2002) with Bob McKercher. |

Sharif Shams Imon has been teaching at the tertiary level since 1997. Before joining IFT in 2006, he taught as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture, Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh, worked as the Academic Consultant for the HKU-SPACE Cultural Heritage Management Programme (CHMP) and taught in the Architectural Conservation Programme (ACP), Department of Architecture of The University of Hong Kong (HKU).
Dr. Imon is actively involved in the UNESCO and ICCROM training programmes on cultural heritage management in South and South East Asia. His recent works include development of training materials for Cultural Heritage Specialized Guide Training and Certification Programme for UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and a training manual on Cultural Tourism Sites Management (a UNESCAP project). On behalf of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Dr. Imon has carried out reactive monitoring and site evaluation missions to sites in Asia.
His areas of teaching and research interest include Conservation Principles, Cultural Heritage Management (Management Systems), Heritage Interpretation, Public Participation and Urban Conservation. |

Doris is a veteran English teacher of the Institute For Tourism Studies. She has been teaching English since she received her first degree in English Studies from the University of East Asia, Macau in 1991, and she joined CIEST (the former self of IFT) in 1993. Doris has great interest in curriculum design and language learning motivation. Over the years, with her colleagues, Doris has established the syllabuses for English and communication skills for Tourism and Hospitality. She also maintains the ACCESS club, which offers extra curricular activities for improving students?English proficiency.
Besides teaching, Doris serves the Institute and the students as a Student Counsellor. She assists in the betterment of students' college lives and gives advice to students on their studies, plans for further studies, career path and personal matters.
As the Regent for Languages, Doris coordinates language teachers of the Tourism College, ensuring all teachers' commitment to promoting the language standards of students of the Tourism College.
Doris's research interests include language learning motivation, learning strategies, curriculum design, discourse analysis, and tourism education. She has co-authored Communication Tasks for Tourism & Hospitality Education (1997) and English for Taxi-drivers (1999), a set of self-study bilingual English teaching tapes tailor-made for taxi-drivers in Macau. |
