BALANCING TOURISM AND HERITAGE:

VISIONS OF HISTORIC TAIPA AND THE IEC LONG FIREWORKS FACTORY

Exhibition will run from 14-21 July 2004 at IFT Amphitheater (open from 10am to 7pm)

and from 23-28 July 2004 at the Center for Creative Industries (CCI) Macao

The exhibition features the architectural concepts and urban designs of the historic district of Taipa and the Iec Long Fireworks Factory, made by architecture students of the Hong Kong University, Department of Architecture, under the guidance of Professor Naonori Matsuda. The designs center around visions of Macao’s history and culture as valuable sources of tourism attraction, the need for their sustainability as heritage resources, and as a source of pride among local people of the territory.

The exhibition is organized in cooperation with the following organizations:
