Objective :

This programme is designed for secondary school graduates or professionals who would like to pursue academic and professional qualifications to enter the exciting tourism industry as tour guide.

Remark:

According to the decree-law no. 48/98/M published on 3 November and revised on 30 December 2004 by administrative regulation no. 42/2004, interested parties must attend and pass the Tour Guide Course organized by Institute For Tourism Studies in order to apply for the Tour Guide License issued by Macau Government Tourist Office.

¿  Holders of secondary certificates outside Macao are requested to submit the following:

China:

1. Original and photocopy of certificate(s). If lost, the applicant can submit a testimonial including the following
     information:  dates of entry and graduation, education level, signature of present school principal with the date and
     school seal.
2. Original and photocopy of academic reports. If lost, the applicant can submit a transcript.  In case where no report
    record is kept by the school attended, the applicant needs to submit a declaration which includes the signature of
    present school principal with the date and school seal.

Hong Kong:

1. Original and photocopy of certificate(s). If lost, the applicant can submit a testimonial including the following
     information:  dates of entry and graduation, education level, signature of present school principal with the date and
     school seal.
2. Original and photocopy of academic reports. The reports should indicate:  scoring system, passing mark, signature
     of present school principal with the date and school seal.
3. The registration information of the school issued by the Hong Kong Education and Manpower Bureau (Address: 
     School Registration and Compliance Section, Wu Chung House 213, 14th Floor Room 1416, Queen’s Road, East
     Wanchai, Hong Kong).

Other countries or regions:

1. Original and photocopy of certificate(s). The certificate issued by the school and/or education department must
     include the following information:  signature of person in charge, date of issue, school seal and/or unit seal.
2. Original and photocopy of academic reports. The candidate must provide the transcript issued by the school and/or
     education department which must contain the following information:  scoring system, passing mark, annual
     academic results, signature of person in charge, date of issue, school seal and/or unit seal.
3. Approved educational level, education system and duration, registration status of the school (If the information     
     provided by the applicant is not issued by the local education department).
 

If there are fewer than 25 accepted candidates registered in the programme, the Institute reserves the right of not launching the programme.

The Institute has the right to check the authenticity of the certificates and testimonials submitted.  If IFT finds that a student has presented a false certificate for application, his/her studies will be immediately terminated, and the Institute reserves the right to take further legal action.

¿ Students who have successfully completed the Macao Heritage Tour Guide Course and Cultural Heritage Interpretation for World
        Heritage Sites, and obtained a minimum score of 70% in both final examinations, will be awarded the certificate of Specialist
        Guide for World Heritage Sites (Macao)
