Internship Programme

 

 
  Local Students
Candidates may apply for admission to any one of the Degree Programmes starting from the first year upon:
1. completion of secondary school (or proof of possession of equivalent qualifications);
2. obtaining a satisfactory grade in the admission examinations
(2009/10 Entrance English Exam Paper; 2009/10 Entrance Mathematics Exam Paper
2008/09 Entrance English Exam Paper
; 2008/09 Entrance Mathematics Exam Paper);
3. obtaining a satisfactory result in the interview.
Candidates may apply for admission to the 4th Supplementary Year leading to a Bachelor Degree upon:
1. possession of a higher diploma in relevant discipline; and
2. obtaining a satisfactory result in the interview, if required.
The following documents should be submitted to Registry once candidates are admitted:
1. A copy of ID card;
2. A copy of senior secondary school academic report of the last year of study; and
3. A copy of senior secondary school graduation certificate.

 
 
  International Students
International students who intend to study for the Degree Programmes starting from the first year must:
  1. have completed their senior secondary school education;
  2. have obtained TOFEL score of at least 550 (computer-based 213) or IELTS 6.0 (no more than 3 years prior to applying to IFT) or sat for an equivalent exam or the Institute's English Placement Test;
  3. have obtained at least a Grade "C" in General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) O Level Mathematics or an equivalent exam or sat for the Institute's Mathematics Placement Test;
  4. attend an interview with the admission panel.
The English and Mathematics Placement Tests will be taken in early July.

International Students who have taken courses in a recognised equivalent higher educational institution may be eligible to transfer credits towards the IFT programmes. However, they should provide as many details as possible (transcripts, course descriptions, etc.) to substantiate their claim for course exemption. Their cases will then be subject to review by the admission panel.

The following documents should be submitted to Registry once candidates are admitted:

  1. A copy of the personal details page of his/her passport;
  2. An official copy of the student's academic transcript issued by his/her home secondary/high school;
  3. A certified copy of student's secondary/high school certificate;
  4. Five recent passport-sized (1.5 inches) colour photographs;
  5. An application fee of MOP200 or USD25 in the form of a bank draft made payable to "Instituto de Formacao Turistica".
 
 
 
  Exchange Students
Applicants must be currently enrolled at an institution with which IFT has a student exchange agreement. Exchange students may apply for one semester of study, during which time they are usually required to take five courses. The application for admission should be made through the students' home institution at least three months before the commencement of each semester (semesters normally begin in early September and early February).

The following documents should be returned to Registry:

  1. Application Form;
  2. Course Selection Form (Sem 1, Sem 2);
  3. Arrival Information Form;
  4. Accommodation Request Form;
  5. Medical Examination Report;
  6. Return Letter;
  7. Five recent passport-sized (1.5 inches) colour photographs;
  8. Copy of passport showing personal details;
  9. Copy of insurance policy for coverage in Macao; and
  10. Official transcript showing all courses completed at home institution.
 
 
 
  Mainland Students
Candidates may apply for admission to any one of the Degree Programmes starting from the first year upon:
1. completion of secondary school (or proof of possession of equivalent qualifications);
2. taking the National Unified Examination of current academic year;
3. obtaining a satisfactory result in the interview.
The following documents should be submitted to Registry once candidates are admitted:
1. A copy of ID card;
2. A copy of senior secondary school academic report of the last year of study;
3. A copy of senior secondary school leaving certificate;
4. A copy of Household Register;
5. A copy of personal details page and part D of his/her passport;  and
6. Five recent passport-sized (1.5 inches) colour photographs of white background.
 
Remark: Candidates who are diagnosed with hepatitis (HBsAg) positive in medical examination are forbidden to apply for either Hotel Management or Tourism Event Management.
