Exchange Programmes
| APETIT Marco Polo Programme |
|---|
The Network of APETIT was promoted and established by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in September 1997. The purpose of the Network is to strengthen the institutional capabilities of various countries’ tourism training, education and research institutes, to encourage cooperation among them and to overcome the quantitative and qualitative shortages of human resources in the tourism industry. |
To facilitate student exchanges among the member institutions, a new initiative “APETIT Marco Polo Programme” was proposed in 11th Executive Committee Meeting in Melbourne (Australia), further discussed in 12th Executive Committee Meeting and endorsed in 4th General Council Meeting in Hanoi (Vietnam). | Student Exchange Programme |
|---|
IFT actively promotes and develops student exchange programmes with its exchange partner institutions. Up to this moment, IFT has accepted students coming from mainland China, Europe, Russia, South Korea, USA, etc. for a semester or for shorter periods of study. An Information Guide for International and Exchange Students is tailor-made for the prospective candidates' reference.
Applicants must be currently enrolled at an institution with which IFT has a student exchange agreement. Exchange students may apply for one semester of study, during which time they are usually required to take five courses. The application for admission should be made through the students' home institution at least three months before the commencement of each semester (semesters normally begin in August and January). |
